Master Sergeant Fletcher was born on May 4, 1967 in Elizabeth Town, KY.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps on September 4, 1986.  Graduating MCRD, Parris Island SC, he received orders to report to Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD to attend the 2111 MOS School for Small Arms Weapon Repair.  Upon Graduating from the Small Arms Repairman Course, He received orders to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines were he served as a weapons repair technician from May 1987 to May 1988.  During his tour with 2nd Battalion 6th Marines, he participated in two deployments, including one deployment while temporarily assigned to 2nd Battalion 4th Marines.  After exchanging colors with 2/6, Corporal Fletcher remained in place as the weapons tech for 2/8 from May 1998 to June 1990.  In June 1990 Corporal Fletcher received orders to report to Communication Squadron 28, Detachment-B, New-River, NC where he served as the Detachment Weapons Tech from June 1990 to August 1992.  During his tour with Detachment-B, Corporal Fletcher deployed to Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. 

Upon returning from deployment Corporal Fletcher received orders to report to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron-18, Okinawa Japan where he served as the Armory NCOIC.  After that one year tour with MTACS-18, Sergeant Fletcher reported to Inspector/Instructor Staff, 4th Battalion 14th Marines, 4th Marine Division, Bessemer, AL  for duty as the Armory NCOIC from August 1993 to January 1997.  During this tour Sergeant Fletcher also served as the Battalion Maintenance Management Chief, Substance Abuse Control Officer, and Commander of the Color Guard.  He participated in countless funeral details and was the spokesman for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Campaign.  In January 1997 Sergeant Fletcher reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron-272, Iwakuni Japan where he served as the Armory NCOIC from January 1997 to February 1998.  After that one year tour Sergeant Fletcher then reported to 1st Battalion 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA where he served and the Armory Chief and the Battery Gunny from February 1998 to March 2000.

In March 2000 SSgt Fletcher received orders and proceeded to report to Recruiter School at MCRD San Diego, CA.  SSgt Fletcher graduated with honors from Recruiter School finishing in the top ten percent of the class and received a special Fitness Report and letter of recognition from the Director of the School.  SSgt Fletcher then reported to 6th Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Montgomery, AL sub-station Tuscaloosa AL for duty as a canvassing recruiter.  SSgt Fletcher quickly rose from a ranking of 53 to number 6 within the first six months and stood up as the Station NCOIC.  In June 2002 Gunnery Sergeant Fletcher transferred to the Marine Corps Officer Selection Office where he was instrumental and successful in recruiting future Marine Corps Officers.

Upon the end of his successful tour as a Recruiter, Gunnery Sergeant Fletcher received orders to report to Marine Corps Detachment, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD for duty as an instructor.  During this tour Gunnery Sergeant Fletcher was promoted to Master Sergeant in 2006. 

Master Sergeant Fletcher’s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with silver star, National Defense Medal with two bronze stars, South West Asia Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 4 bronze stars, Marine Corps Recruiting Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

Master Sergeant Fletcher is married to the Former Adriane L. Nash.  They have two children:  Zicarria, age 19 and Nigel, age 14
